STC and Nokia do a test of Technology to deliver a LTE-like performance to Wi-Fi

The STC also known as Saudi Telecom Company and Nokia have performed a examination of MulteFire technology, which mixes the performance of LTE together with the simplicity of Wi-Fi use in unlicensed range bands such as 5GHz.

As the demand of data continues to uncheck, mobile phone operators want to explore more possibilities in other range bands, for instance the 5GHz band, to achieve more other clients in personal business network such as office blocks, airports, shopping malls and more. Nevertheless, as the range is shared by several technologies and the amount of users increase, the quality and speed can endure.

The examination – which applied Nokia‘s FLexizone little cells together with MulteFire software – revealed how MulteFire can co-exist along with Wi-Fi to provide the high performance, security and high speed offered by LTE in heavily booming environment.

MulteFire enhances heterogeneous network or the HetNets, which usually use a fusion of macro and small cell receivers, enabling operators to meet the enhanced connectivity requires of future smart places.
